London Shapers launch fundraiser for Ukraine

Join the Global Shapers London Hub on March 17th and help raise money to support getting a truck of donations from the UK to Ukraine.

Our fundraiser will take place at the Loading Bar, which is generously hosting us for the evening. There will be plenty of games to play, a Mario Kart & Super Smash Bros. Tournament (with prizes to be won), DJ sets and drinks to take you through the night.

During the event, you will from London-based Ukrainian social impact leaders, including Alexandra Kutas (CEO & Co-Founder, Puffins) and Olga Kravchenko (CEO & Co-Founder, Musemio), about resources and ways to support crisis relief efforts.

We will also host a physical item donation collection box, which we will arrange to drop off at a collection centre after the event.

Everyone who donates at least £5 will be automatically entered into our raffle, which has over £600 worth of prizes.

All money raised will go towards supportingClimate Action's Ukraine Aid Appeal campaign.

We are aiming to sponsor a truck of aid. It costs £2,000 to sponsor each 20 tonne HGV truck, which is being organised by the logistics firm Ukay Express, who are based in E10, London.

Each truck will be packed with donated items from whole range of London / UK companies, charities, schools and community groups who are delivering to Ukay Express depot in E10.

The trucks leave E10 and drive direct to Lviv, Ukraine. They are Ukraine registered, which means they have the papers to get across the Ukraine border. Polish and UK trucks get stuck in Poland. There is a humanitarian logistics hub in Lviv, where the trucks unload. It is then sorted and distributed by volunteers and charity workers across Ukraine.
